Hi Brothers and Sisters,

God Bless!!

We are doing Great in the lord at this time just keeping up with all that took place in the pass few weeks, with us having some brothers holding a Gospel meeting at the Church that went well, well attended and we had four Baptism as a result.

Our children and myself was not well after trying hard to prepare for their coming and I came down with my Blood pressure going up and having a bad cold from being up and down in the rain and some times late going back home from the Building.

We had $17 200,collection in April and this is good and growing some and we also start to have the members see the need to give to special efforts the church is in involved in we collected $8,000 towards buying some blinds the church needs, I had the Ladies use mine for the Gospel meeting time for the while.

The attendance has improved some with the bus now running each week to pick up Christians we are having 30 to 40 coming out now. We had some really good studies in the past few weeks because we were able to get to some with the help of the Bus and Back and it is working, we were able to visit Juliet and Marvis Gomes Talk to them about worship and about them getting married there were from Mattews Ridge where the church is and the girl parents is also members. We visited with Rosey and Chelsie discuss marriage Rosey is a believer, but is living home and husband is working in the Interior so we were only able to meet with them when he comes out, we also studied with Alana a girl with similar problems.
we came in contact with a Family over the death of their daughter and I Did a thanks giving service for them and also got some time to study with the husband Standley and Virgina who is Catholic and was very surprise to know the world out here is so confused with all these church they are from Kituma Village, but his wife is a better Soil to work on she is coming out to learn more, her husband was in a Boat accident and badly hurt to the Head and Face. There is also a Sister Dian having us study with her husband who is J, witness and that is just us planting the seed but her Son Sanyo and daughter-in -law and grand child we had good study and they are coming out to see how we worship and then to make their decision and it’s going to be all at once.

We also had another study with a girl and her Father Nesha and God is working things out she is now living closer to the church and this is because the place where she was living next to a Drugs yard and she has three daughters who came to services last Sunday and was so happy to be apart of the worship,

The visit from our two brothers was great, they also brought some Nice lessons from the word of God and some Medicines and tooth brushes and a tube of Colgate for all the families in the Church this we did give out on Sunday for the christian and During the week for people in the community in all with the help of the members Chad was able to help 180+ persons that week checking Blood pressure as well.

They spoke on the one Church, The Rich young Ruler, The four ships in Philippians, Sin and what it does and was well attended.

We were able to have half of the Church Benches in time for the Meeting and then the other half came the next week ,we now have some fifteen and the building is full. and nice looking and now we need to fill them with People. We had four young people that gave their lives to Christ and a few others want to learn more so that was Good. Christopher Joseph, Winella Cameron , and Nicholas Webster and Amandie Singh.

The Ladies of the Church mostly the older and Faithful ones was taken to Enmore Church of Christ for a Day with the Church Bus and was great and happy to see so much other Christian Sister and had a wonderful Fellowship and a great meal together and we baked cakes in our kitchen and took it with us for snack time before they leave and the men served the sisters and one sister that is qualified with Teens problems spoke to the younger Girls; some fifty was in attendance and all together some two hundred and fifty and more studied and was Praising God together. This was done on Good Friday each year.

I must say a big thanks for all the support for we are seeing the increase that the lords work and all our prayers is doing in Tuschen and how the good Lord is working on using us as tools in his work and Blessing us with much more Growth and we send our Love to all.

REPORT OF WORK FOR JULY-SEPTEMBER, 2010

I express my sincere thanks to the Elders and Mission Committee

of the Winfield Church of Christ and Mesa church of Christ for

supporting me and my family to spread the Gospel of Christ in

Nigeria. God has been so gracious to me and has really blessed

my ministry. I graduated from the Bible College in 1986 and since

then, I have been preaching the Gospel for more than twenty four

years now. Church of Christ Nto-Otong is the sixth congregation

that I have served.

August 15, 2010 was my complete one year here in this

congregation. Every morning, 5-6am, Christians numbering 15-20

gather in the church hall here to glorify God in songs and prayers

for his wonderful love and protection. We also pray for Christians

allover the world and for the expansion of God's Kingdom. We

are employing many strategies to see that the church here grows

but the growth rate is very slow, every last Sunday of the month

we do house to house preaching and open air lectures. Our efforts

yie lded some fruits as we have two recent converts. On August 8

Nene Etuk Udoidiong was restored back to Christ. She left the

Lord's Church and wandered to Mount Zion Church for many

years, on September 26, Linus Dan Akpan was baptized into

Christ, he was formerly a member of the Pentecostal Assemblies.

Nigerian Christian Bible College Ukpom conducted her 53rd annual

Bible Lect ureship from 3rd to 6th August 2010. I co-ordinated the

activities of the lectureship a total of 62 souls obeyed the gospel

and were baptized, 230 congregations from five states of Nigeria

attended and 4,000 Christians attended daily.

August 7 and September 3, I preached at the funeral of two

faithful brothers who departed from this life.

On august 31st, Dr. Monday Akpakpan and myself spoke in the

World Bible School Enlightenment Programme at Afaha Obio Eno,

Ibiono, 200 preachers and church leaders from 5 local

government areas attended.

On September 9, I helped a young congregation at Ikot Oku Ubo

Offot, Uyo in their house to house preaching and open air

lectures.

I was appointed the chairman of the Abak preachers and church

leaders forum in august 2010, we meet every third Sunday of the

month at Abak Town Church of Christ, 18 Ebom Avenue. We are

faced with the responsibility of evangelizing Abak Local

Government and environs our first proposal is to know all the

congregations in Abak and environs and to establish new

congregation when there is none. We will conduct a seminar for

all ministers and church leaders in December, October 17, we will

have a lecture on "Strategies of Evangelism in the 21st Century".

I commend Tina of Winfield Church of Christ for sending lessons

to many students here in my area. I commend Mary Box for

sending lessons and converting many souls here for more than

twenty years of our working together. I appreciate the activities

of Doug Wheeler for sending money to buy Bibles for these

students to study and make commitment to Christ. I also thank

the mission printing press for sending gospel tracts in a long

container it arrived Monday Akpakpan office and I help to upload

these variety of tracts to spread the gospel in Nigeria. Brethren in

August and September, 2010 I have been associated with 63

Baptisms and two restorations. To God be the Glory

Thank you and God bless.

Report from Hari Persaud 10-2010

God Bless!! We are doing great in the Lord.

My family is better health wise, except for me I am still suffering with lots of pain from my kidney stones, and also I fell off a donkey cart I was traveling on one day. I had lots to do in September, My boy started prep school, I went there and People knew I am a minister in the area and this is good for the Church, it is a new building and I was asked to open In prayer there for the first day of school. I am finding more People with open hearts for the Lord, I am studying with a 19year old Dwyane who is single, But very confused with the life he was living and he wants some time to work things out we studied two times.

Another family that we are working with is Thessa and Samanatha her sister-in -law. Both has children and is not married to their partners, but Thessa is willing to make it right, I spoke to him and when he returns from work in the interior(GOLD BUSH) we are going to meet, But in the mean time they are attending and learning about the Church and the worship.

Attendance is picking up some times I come in and People come in slowly and I feel what is happening we did so much work in the week but then people are people, those might stay away and next another set comes and makes me happy to Preach and enjoy the services more and this keeps us up spirited, we just have to plant and God give the increase. I love to plant the seed as you go I enjoy talking to every one I meet, Taxi Drivers, those at the School, shops, on the streets and can have doors open all over. Collection is on the increase also we are giving some more maybe because I have thought some on giving in the pass months. We are having some times $5,000 to $8,000.on some Sundays.

There were two funerals in the months, I Help to do one of them which is that I was just called to help out, the Preacher could not make it he was at work. Brother Woung was 73years old and was very faithful to the Lord. The other Person is a minister from the Church of Christ in the Pomoroon River Ramond Garraway. He had cancer in his head from a accident he was riding his bicycle as I do also and he hit the back of a bus several years and now he is dead. I just pray to God to take me safe on the streets.

We had two marriages in the Church this month Sis Doreen and her Partner Narine was married and Steve and his wife also. When we had our opening of our Building a BRO. David from WBS came and visited Tuschen and several members and Visitors alike was enroll in WBS and people stop me on the street and tell me how happy they are to have this course’s was brought to Christ in 1986,By Bro. Jack Epperson from Florence Alabama.

A congregation From Linden visited us at Tuschen and some 45 persons came and that week we had over 100 persons at services and we prepared Food for them and had a great fellowship; they worked on a local effort with us before in Tuschen. We also celebrated Five years at Tuschen this month, and North Road where I came from Home church is having 28years while I am 25 years come next year in the Church.

On the 30th of Settle GSBS Guyana Bible School, Visited with three other brothers from the USA and the Denham, Ten of us in all working on visiting some new people, follow up and just sharing the Gospel and some 26 homes was visited but no Baptism was a result as yet but I am still working with those who show real interest in the Gospel, it was a wonderful day together. I had one to be Baptized in the Month it was Tonya, a 16 year old girl that gave he life to Christ, It was a great day we were working very long with her she had her share of problems but she working them out and was ready. One thing she told her mom was that she wanted to live in a Christian home and needs the support from her also, her other younger sisters also coming out to learn, very smart little sisters just too young.

We had a great month in the Lord and are looking forward to next month where we at Tuschen is hosting a Grand lectureship On Developing Biblical leadership for the Church, for all Preachers there wives and two faithful members of each congregation in the Country. We are teaming up with GSBS in this venture. It is done every six months and we on the west side never had hosted the work shop before, we can only be able to do this because of out new building.

This is all for now.

Ghana Report from Samuel Mends

October 26th, 2010 | Ghana, Missions, Reports | Comments Off

When it comes to reaching a lost world for Christ, some may wonder how far we’ve come and how much farther to go. Today, we can identify the people groups that remain untouched by the Gospel. For the first time, it is conceivable that all people groups can be reached in the coming years with a Gospel presence. According to 2009 data there were 3000 + baptisms, 89 churches planted. 11 new churches yet to plant before end of December 2010.

Yes, there is still a long way to go, but progress is being made every day with the Prayers and material, financial support from world Bible school and Church of Christ, United State of America(mesa church, AZ/ Hooker ,OK, Gruver, and Davis park church of Christ,)

  • Joel & Pat COPPINGER

  • Steven BLACK
  • Phillis & Fred DICKEY
  • Oakhurst, CA
  • Gathering & Gateway Churches, AZ

Now is the time to also take a fresh look at the challenges ahead and be ready to finish the task. With many planted churches in Ghana, there is much work to be done.

Here’s a view of the work ahead of us:

  • people groups are not engaged at all with the Gospel
  • unreached people groups (those with less than 2 percent of people who profess to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ)
  • no access to the Gospel
  • Muslims – 30 percent of the population
  • Preachers witness among Ghana cities less than 1 percent
  • 1/2 population in Ghana do not know Christ
  • Less than 1 percent Christian among more than 22 million living in the Ghana
  • 97 percent of all northern Ghana are Muslim
  • 89 percent of Volta and Middle Eastern people groups are unchurched people(they need gospel)
  • Volta people groups in Ghana have no known evangelical believers
  • Only 1,600 believers among 3 million brong ahafo of Northern Ghana
  • The central region population is 4,546,978.the growing rate at of 2.2 percent per annum. The region is also second most densely populated in the country, with a population density of 345 persons per square kilometer

A little overwhelming isn’t it? The task is double, but it will take all of us – our churches, our missionaries, our preachers, and our Great Commission team

  • Group A. (those with support)

GHANA

General Preacher Report – Ghana West Africa

Mesa church of Christ

On Sept. 8, 2010, Samuel mends evangelism group of new preachers appointed by the team at Breman Asikuma mends home. At a special meeting in their honor, including Joseph Appiah shared personal stories of calling, sacrifice and passion for making Christ’s name known.

Samuel mends, highlighted the wide variety of careers from which the preachers came. They included a roofer,   seaman, forester, carpenter, graphic designer, bus driver and farmer. Many of the missionaries left behind dream jobs, powerful titles to serve God in remote villages.

Joseph Appiah gave up a career at seaman, where he worked as a seaman. He and his wife are bound for Twifo Naimakrom.

Speaking from 2 Timothy, mends offered the same charge to the new preachers that the Apostle Paul did to Timothy.

“Paul charges Timothy, and we charge you, to realize that whatever you go to do, you do in the power of the Lord Jesus Christ — not in the power of yourself,” Samuel mends said.

“The things you go to do are things which you are incapable of doing. … We all know how inadequate we are to do the work of the living God. But we also know that whatever He calls us to do, He empowers us to do, and He fills us with His Spirit to enable us to do those things.”

Samuel mends also encouraged the preachers to embrace Paul’s exhortation to Timothy for patience and endurance when it comes to sharing the Gospel.

“Many of you are going to work among people whose ears have already told them the only truth they want to hear is that there is no God. And that everything they’ve heard about religion is empty and false and wrong, and if they worship anything it is whatever their particular culture is. … You go with understanding … that people will be resistant to truth,” Samuel mends said.

“All of you are going to ministries that will be heavy with suffering emotionally and spiritually. … But Paul says endure suffering; endure hardship. … Look toward Him in every circumstance.”

Mends told the preaching team that Jesus’ command to go and share the Gospel applies to all; not just the 35 team-members.

“You may say, ‘I’m not a preacher. I’m not a good in English. I’m not an evangelist’ … neither were they. But God can take any one of His followers, whom He chooses, He can change you, He can call you, He can empower you,” Mends said.

“People like you who go from your church for a week or two make a difference and touch the lives of people on the field that are used by God in remarkable ways. Every one of us can go.”

“I hope you will prioritize that relationship with Jesus Christ. Nothing is more important than that. When we have our relationship with Christ right and love the Lord most of all, then we have a love for the lost,” mends said.

Samuel mends also offered a challenge to Ghana preachers and churches across the central and western region.

“One of the hopes I have for the World Bible School is that there will be a radical reprioritization of taking the Gospel of Jesus Christ to every people group on earth,” he said.

Samuel mends also challenged every newly planted churches to take at least one mission trip in 2011, including the preachers on the team.

“I really don’t believe that Jesus could be any more clear than He is in Matthew 24:14,” Mends said. “Until the Gospel goes to every people group on earth, He ain’t coming. And when the Gospel is presented to every people group on earth, get ready — it’s going be good for those who follow Jesus.”

The Samuel mends preaching team will host its next missionary’s trip Jan 22-30. 2011, in conjunction with the Mesa mission campaign.

Hi Family,
We're having a great time teaching every day (28 English Bible students and 13 preacher school  students), preaching tomorrow, seeing the sights, watching student preachers grow,
eating strange (even to me) foods, and being amazed at how much this country is like Thailand in the 70's.  Julie & Ronda are doing great.  They are speaking the language and buried in the Cambodian culture.  Super opportunity to grow God's kingdom among 14 million folks.  Jean is struggling with the weather, can't handle the humility and for sure this will be her last trip to Cambodia.

Laos Foreign Ministry will not answer our request for a visa through the embassy here. No answer is their way of saying I'm still a black sheep so we are changing plans and not going to Laos.

Please add Burma to your prayer list. The politics aren't looking good but if Bill says go, we'll go.  Read between the lines for the situation.

We love you,
Ken & Jean Fox

Our missions to St. Cuthberts was a blessed crusade we have a total of thirty baptism , our youth team have each night over one hundred and eighty attending each night , the youth program was excellent as they were able to reach out to the young people in the Village, they were many youths have became Christians because of the work of the youth program.

Each day as our team workers did their door to door evangelism and we also were talking to those Christians who have fallen away, with much encouragement each day and night we were able to persuade them to repent and the end we have an total of twenty seven (27) repented and some renew their committeemen to the Lord "s church.

Our nightly crusade had two preachers each night which worked well because the people responded well to the preaching of the gospel.

We concluded the St. Cutberts mission and moved on to Kopinang Missions with a smaller team consisted of six preacher , Kopinang Mission is situated

Report on the work in Tuschen Guyana.

God is good!! We are doing great in the Lord!

I was very busy planning our Medical mission and working to have a very successful meeting and opening of our new Building it all went well by God’s help and I want to say I am sorry for not reporting but it will all get better soon I might have my own computer and internet service .

It is much better after the medical mission is over we have a better attendance at worship and Bible study and even at mid-week Bible study. I can see the vision that we can, I believe it possible with Gods help the Congregation will grow and become a wonderful large Church family in the near future.

I studied with a teacher 20 years old on Sunday after church and in the afternoon he was baptized in to Christ.

We had those that became new Christians bring along there husband and mother and such a wonderful willing atmosphere at worship, but I am having a hard time still with lots to do at worship but I will get some help as soon as I Teach and have them get some working knowledge of the work and the scripture. At mid week Bible study after I felt so good I am teaching from the Old Testament. We had 21 adults.

There was some 12-14 that was baptized on the medical mission, we gave out 12 certificates to those that was Baptized, and two did not receive any we have to find those soon.

They saw many people each day some days like 400 and more persons.

I can see transportation in the future can help the church to grow and some times me having easer access to move faster and cheaper from one study to and from homes to homes. We the members walk home and follow each other in the dark. The Church will have a Bus soon. I rode my Bicycle for 19 years faithfully and now in 2010 things will change for the better.

I can see us having a large V.B.S. this year if we work hard at it we have the potential and place to hold it now, some nights we have some 50 children attend. On Monday we are planning to take the youths to Enmore Church of Christ for a day.  Each year some 300 attend and learn; there is a day for the Men and one day for the ladies also. We have been going each year and win some prize some times also. We usually have to hire a bus for $12,000 each time we go as a group.

We are planning to have a Youth group started soon this and others programs will give the Church a better Life opportunity to Grow and do even better.

At the opening of our building

We had some 250 and more in attendance on the opening and 12 more baptism and some six weddings to happen this week. What a great start and so much to look forward to more men in the Church and Families also.

We are feeling so good to see the fruits of our labors for the past years that some people that we were laying the   ground work for a better brother hood in Tuschen, The People will remain and be strong for it took time for some to make it but when they see the truth from Gods’ word and the Life we live as an example before them they are ready to change, some leaving 14years in some different Churches.

This will be all for now Pray for us as we do the same, with out your help of support us we could not do all this for the Lord and hope we can continue to spread the Gospel to many more with your continued help and support.

Thanks in Christ,
Fellow worker and Brother,
Hari Persaud
