    Alone Time With Others
    Scripture: Luke 9:18-22

There are times when it says Jesus was alone with others. Have you ever felt that you were alone even though there are people around? We can have our personal alone relationship with God while still working with other people.

    Alone Time
God begins with a relationship when we are alone. He created just Adam in the beginning. We need that relationship with just God first and then we can share with others. There are some great things that happen in our time alone with God.

    Scripture: Matthew 4:1-11

We come and sit together in a pew for a period of worship and then we go home. Is that church? What did God intend for his worship to be? What is it like to be in a church where people are open to God and each other?

Jonah is a prophet of God who refuses to do what he says. He runs away thinking he will get away from God. Certainly, he won’t have to do what God said. Have we ever thought about running away?

We have such fierce independence and awareness of our rights that we are reluctant to see anyone as being able to tell us how to run our life. God claims to have all authority in this world. How do we take his word in our current times? Is it advice to be refused of the absolute truth of the universe? What does it mean to be open to scripture?

    Scripture: Luke 24:13-24

Having the Spirit of God in us is a definite advantage. Our relationship with the Spirit is dependent on being aware of how he works and allowing him to work. How can we be open to the Spirit’s leading and intercession?
